Ron Bryant Collection Overview

Historians are pleased to share their knowledge of history. As a student of history and as an historian, I take particular delight in sharing Kentucky history with those who are interested. I am very pleased to be able to offer some historical anecdotes under the auspices of one of the commonwealth’s most venerable offices—the Secretary of State.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Secretary of State Trey Grayson for his interest in preserving Kentucky’s history. The Kentucky Secretary of State’s office is known for its efforts in not only making sure that Kentucky has the best Secretary of State’s office in the country, but also for its innovative approach to combining the history of the commonwealth with the daily activities of one of the busiest offices in state government.

I would also like to thank Kandie Adkinson for her efforts in preserving the invaluable land records of Kentucky. The Land Office of the commonwealth has no peers in the preservation and promotion of these records.
