Slogan Contest
Any student in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in Kentucky may submit a slogan that promotes voter registration and voting for the competition. For judging purposes, the slogan must be an attention-grabbing word or phrase that expresses the importance of eligible Kentuckians participating in local, state and national elections by registering and going to the polls or the democratic freedom of participating in elections.
First place will receive $500 cash or a $1,000 savings bond.
Second place will receive $300 cash or a $600 savings bond.
Third place will receive $200 cash or a $400 savings bond.
All entries must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. (EST) Thursday, December 15, 2011 or postmarked by that day to be eligible for consideration.
Winners will be notified no later than March 2012.

1. The slogan contest is open to all Kentucky middle school students in grades 6, 7, and 8. 2. Slogan entry is limited to one per student. Previous contest entries will not be accepted. 3. All entries must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. (EST) Thursday, December 15, 2011 or postmarked by that day to be eligible for consideration. 4. Entries will not be returned and must be submitted in the required format to be considered. 5. All entries become the property of the Secretary of State’s Office and may be used for other purposes with credit to the author. Winning entries will be posted on the Secretary of State’s website and may be used for other civic- related material. 6. There will also be an online poll on the Secretary of State’s website for the general public to vote for their favorite slogan.
