Kentucky Student Voter Video Contest
Dear Students and Educators:
This year, an unprecedented number of young adults are participating in the political process. Through efforts to mobilize communities by holding rallies, volunteering and by voting, these young persons play a pivotal part in the electoral process.
Together, the Kentucky Campus Compact and the Office of the Secretary of State have partnered to create the Kentucky Voter Education Video Contest. The goal of the competition is to further engage young adults in the political process by encouraging them to use their creativity to develop informative voter education videos. Using this medium has the potential to spur additional interest in the electoral process while also educating fellow citizens about the importance voting and civic participation.
I encourage participants to develop creative, yet informative videos that demystify the process of voting on Election Day. Whether in the form of short films, advertisements, or cartoons, I hope the use our students’ creative voices serves to inspire greater participation in our political process.
Cooperating with Kentucky Campus Compact is an example of how different groups come together to solve common problems. I sincerely hope this challenge informs the citizens of the Commonwealth and spurs greater interest and participation in our civic institutions - including one of our most fundamental and cherished rights - the right vote.
Sincerely,

Trey Grayson Secretary of State Commonwealth of Kentucky
