Many Kentucky Businesses Face Upcoming Deadline

(Frankfort, KY) Businesses based in Kentucky, both foreign and domestic, are facing an upcoming deadline to file their annual reports with the Office of the Secretary of State.  Secretary of State Trey Grayson is reminding all Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), and Professional Services Corporations (PSCs) that are registered with the state and that failed to file an annual report by June 30 of this year that they are in bad standing and must file their annual report by October 31, 2006.   Failure to do so will result in the entity being administratively dissolved or being revoked of its authority to do business in Kentucky.

The Office of the Secretary of State is encouraging business entities to “save time, and file online,” by utilizing the annual report online filing service on the office’s website at: www.sos.ky.gov/annualreports.  Businesses have until 11:59 p.m. ET on October 31st to file online.

“The easiest way for all businesses to file their annual report is to do so electronically on our website,” stated Secretary Grayson.  “In a matter of minutes, you can view your information, make any necessary changes, and file your report.  There is no waiting or turnaround time.  Just log in, and in few short moments, you are finished.”

The Office of the Secretary of State announced a new online service last year that allows citizens to print annual reports as early as the first state business day of the calendar year as opposed to waiting to receive a mailed copy.   The report includes generated information for the company from its previous filing, saving the company the redundancy of entering information every year.
