Grayson Releases County Specific Voter Information Posters
(Frankfort, KY) In a continuation of the large voter education efforts taking place before the historical election on November 7, 2006, Secretary of State Trey Grayson released county specific voter information posters today. The posters include information about polling location hours, how to obtain valuable voter information such as polling locations and sample ballots, phone numbers to report voting irregularities, and contact information for the respective county clerk’s office.
“These posters are just another valuable resource for voters to use on Election Day,” remarked Secretary Grayson. “The poster provides most of the important election related information in one easy to format. I hope that many business leaders as well as engaged citizens will take the time to print out a poster and place it in visible locations.”
The general election on November 7, 2006, has more races on the ballot than at any time in Kentucky’s history leading many election officials to predict healthy turnouts in their jurisdictions. By utilizing information provided on the poster, voters will be educated before they arrive at the polls, reducing confusion and frustration on Election Day.
The poster also advertises the need for precinct election officers. Many county clerks across the state have noted their need for more officers for several years, and with more and more older officers retiring, the need for new officials is increasing. For more information about becoming a precinct election officer or for questions about voting in your county, contact your local county clerk.
