Pursuant to KRS 117.383, the Secretary of State is required after all elections to randomly select one (1) ballot scanner and one (1) race tabulated on that scanner for a hand-to-eye recount for each county of the Commonwealth. A random selection was conducted for each county and the selections are indicated here.

Business Records

​​​​​The business records division of the Secretary of State's office issues certificates of existence and authorization and other certificates of fact and provides copies of documents on file with the Secretary of State.

Certificates

Certificates of existence may be relied on as conclusive evidence that a domestic corporation or domestic limited liability company is in existence; certificates of authorization may be relied on as conclusive evidence that a foreign corporation or foreign limited liability company is authorized to transact business in Kentucky. Anyone may purchase a certificate of ​existence or authorization online or by mail/fax for a $10.00 fee.

Copies

Copies of documents on file with the Secretary of State may be purchased for $5.00 for up to five pages and $0.50 per additional page.

The Secretary of State can certify a copy of any document filed of record. The certification, which bears the Secretary's signature and the seal of the state, is attached to the copy of the document and is conclusive evidence that the original document is on file with the Secretary of State. The cost for certified copies is $10.00 for up to five pages and $0.50 per additional page.
