Kentucky 250 Time Capsule

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Kentucky has a unique opportunity to reflect on who we are and what we want future generations to remember about our Commonwealth. The Kentucky Secretary of State Time Capsule Project invites Kentuckians from across the state to contribute their voices, stories, photographs, artwork, and hopes for the future.

Housed in a modified traditional Kentucky bourbon barrel, the time capsule symbolizes both our rich heritage and our shared commitment to the future. We hope this project inspires Kentuckians to reflect on their role in democracy and civic life.

When the Time Capsule is opened in 2051, it will provide a snapshot of this pivotal moment in our nation’s history. I encourage everyone to participate and help tell Kentucky’s story for generations to come.
